Vertical Water Tanks

Vertical Water Tanks

A water tank is a container for storing water. Water tanks are used to provide storage of water for use in many applications, including drinking water, irrigation agriculture, fire suppression, agricultural farming, both for plants and livestock, chemical manufacturing, food preparation as well as many other uses.

From a single tank for household usage to multi-tank large water storage projects we have you covered!

Option 1 Basic backup water storage
This option works in the same way that a toilet works, water goes out, re-fills and the ball valve shuts off when full. In the case of a municipal cut-off, the tank water will be used till the water returns or the tank empties. This is a great option for those looking for an almost guaranteed water supply (provided your tank does not run out of water completely.

Option 2 Rainwater harvesting
This is a great option for those off-grid and alternative usage projects etc. Rainwater is great for showers, baths, gardening, and topping up your pool and especially toilets. A house let’s say 400m2 can collect a huge amount of rainwater. 1mm of rain per square meter is 1lt. Therefore the average rainfall in Durban is 950mm per year. That equates to a crazy 380 000lt of water. Considering the average person uses 150lt per day +- a family of 4 would require 220 000 lt per annum. Provided you can catch all the summer rain and last the dry winter months this is a great option.

Rainwater can run through a 1 st flush system which removes the majority of large particles out the water, Grit, leaves and stones etc. And pumped directly through the house. TIP: a filter need not clean all the water going through the house, we recommend a small filter placed on a drinking tap, this saves costs as well as unecessary water filtration for toilets, baths showers etc. A teaspoon of jik to every20lt of water will do the trick keeping the water bacteria free 🙂

Option 3 Combo
This option is the best of both, a ball valve is placed mid-way down the tank and a rainwater system is installed as well. The ball valve will keep the tank partially full and if it rains it will top up the tank till the water reaches the ball valve. This is a great option for people looking to cut down on costs and save money. Sizes range from 260lt up to 20 000lt and larger (pricing on request). Common sizes are 1000lt slim tank (800 x 2200), 2500lt (1400 x 1800), 5000lt (1800 x 2200), 10 000lt (2210 x 3000), 15-20kl pricing and specs on request.
